Spring Cleaning: A Simple Guide to Do it Right

By Maryl Joop

The number one enemy to your vehicle's paint job isn't the car that parked too close, nor is it the game of Frisbee going on nearby. The number one enemy to your paint job is the constant snow in winter and sun in summer.

Starting with the reduction of clutter and moving to the sanitizing of surfaces in your home, the following are great tips to make sure you get everything done right. Begin with throwing out the things you no longer need.

That's one of the reasons why the hybrids have such a good car for consumers. They use enough of an electric engine to make the gas mileage skyrocket, while consuming gas to give the vehicles power.

It's absolutely imperative to a city's ability to recover from a blizzard. People need to get back to work, the grocery store, or to each other.

You'd be surprised to find out that electric cars are making their comeback in the form of an inter-state vehicle. Most car companies are releasing short range vehicles that are boasting incredible numbers on mpge (miles per gallon gasoline equivalent).

These are the clothes that work just fine, they just no longer fit, are excessive, or don't look how you would like. Once wardrobes are cleaned out, dispose of those piles as you planned.

Starting from the top and moving down, the most efficient car of the year is the 2013 Scion iQ EV. Toyota boasts it at 104 mpge and Kelly Blue Book says it can sell for about $16,000 with just the standard features.

You may be extremely organized and feel the need to keep receipts for reconciliation at some future point, but how many years back should you save? Anything beyond 5-10 might be getting a bit excessive; consider throwing those out.

You don't have to worry too much about covering it when it's outside in a snow storm. It's the driving that's the problem.

Try the 2013 Honda Fit EV. This is Honda's response to the Scion. It too boasts a similar mpge combo, just past 100. It is very much designed as a car-share as well, but can fit 5 people and has a longer range per charge (83 miles).

These tops should be properly covered before a storm and hidden from most of the natural elements whenever possible. They are pricy to replace should they go bad.

Grab a reliable stain remover and a good stainless steel polish to get the job done. Once that's through, go around the house (a room at a time so as not to overwhelm your workload) and clean every surface. Vacuum every inch of carpet. Wash every window. Get into the cracks too. This means between the cushions, under the furniture, and along the window tracks.

You'll be surprised at how much dirt has accumulated over that time. Once you get through all of that, your house will be cleaner and less cluttered than it was before. That's what you're looking for. Spring is a season worth being happy for, and a clean house will help you be happy.

The electric car is starting to catch real traction. These cars are already perfectly designed for every day driving, finally being able to keep up with the big boys on legal roads.
